And the runner-up is...

For a couple days, this was going to be Kathleen and Frank's wedding invitation. A few days later, Kathleen found something else she liked better and so she and I worked on a new design. We're still working on it, but we'll share it when it's done!

Play-Doh!

Is it just me or do these flowers look like they are made from Play-Doh? This was taken at Morikami Japanese Gardens in Delray Beach, Fla., using a f/2.8 100mm macro.

Native beauty

My dad has some beautiful orchids (that are native to Florida) in his backyard. I used the macro lens to get a close-up shot of the pretty orchid.

Birdie Blues

My friend was kind enough to lend me his macro lens (f/2.8 100mm) during my vacation to Ft. Lauderdale. My dad has all kinds of cool plants in his backyard, and we went to Morikami Japanese Gardens--both excellent places to test drive the lens. If you are ever in Delray Beach, it is worth visiting! I'll post my favorites this week. But for now, check out my dad's bird, Blues. As you can see, he is getting in new quills, which causes him to be a bit cranky, but he graciously allowed me to photograph him.

Adventures in my dad's backyard

While on vacation (way back in August) I was playing around with some new camera toys in my dad's backyard. I was entertained for days... I'm sure he thought I was crazy!

Trying out a silhouette sunset.

A pretty-in-pink water lilly.

The reflection of a purple water lilly.

A palm frond.

A hot pink hibiscus.

Sit. Stay. Good boy.

I found this photo today of my friend's "puppy" that I took a few years ago. I was taking photos of an ultimate frisbee game and decided the dog was just too cute to pass up.

A closer look at paradise

I tend to see the world through orange and blue glasses! I love Birds of Paradise--they are so pretty.

Hair today, gone tomorrow

Paging Ken Paves! A bride-to-be had a disasterous hair cut (have yet to see it, but she hates it), so upcoming engagement photos have been postponed until her tresses are long again. No worries! We are flexible with scheduling, though we wish we knew how to fix a bad hair did.

Rain, rain go away...

Well, the weather forecast for this weekend wasn't looking too good for the Pai-Hwang engagement photo shoot on Honeymoon Island. So the bride-to-be decided to move the photo shoot to June 21. We are all very excited about spending the day in Tampa and taking lots of cute pictures! I'm also excited to use one of my new toys--a special lens filter to enhance close-up shots.
