And the runner-up is...

For a couple days, this was going to be Kathleen and Frank's wedding invitation. A few days later, Kathleen found something else she liked better and so she and I worked on a new design. We're still working on it, but we'll share it when it's done!

Play-Doh!

Is it just me or do these flowers look like they are made from Play-Doh? This was taken at Morikami Japanese Gardens in Delray Beach, Fla., using a f/2.8 100mm macro.

Native beauty

My dad has some beautiful orchids (that are native to Florida) in his backyard. I used the macro lens to get a close-up shot of the pretty orchid.

Birdie Blues

My friend was kind enough to lend me his macro lens (f/2.8 100mm) during my vacation to Ft. Lauderdale. My dad has all kinds of cool plants in his backyard, and we went to Morikami Japanese Gardens--both excellent places to test drive the lens. If you are ever in Delray Beach, it is worth visiting! I'll post my favorites this week. But for now, check out my dad's bird, Blues. As you can see, he is getting in new quills, which causes him to be a bit cranky, but he graciously allowed me to photograph him.

A "grate" meeting

Kathleen will know what I'm talking about... we had a "grate" meeting this weekend in Orlando. While we had reserved this weekend for her second session of engagement photos, the weather looked too threatening, so we are rescheduling. In the end, we had a very productive weekend. We finalized the centerpieces for her wedding and more importantly, we figured out how we want to do her invitations. I got a bit carried away with the whole pink and green thing and made her invites too fun and girly, but they will work for parties or bridal showers, etc. I'm going to start working on a new design for her.

Our meeting next month will give us an opportunity to finalize the invitation design, and we are looking at the wedding venue again to finalize the ceremony plans as well as identify locations where we want to take the wedding party photos.

So, all is going well with the wedding plans. I'm looking forward to this wedding for so many reasons!

Pretty in pink (and green)

I'm still working on designs for Kathleen and Frank's wedding invitations. Here's what I came up with tonight:
